Nurturing Parenting

Mom holding childs hand at fairThis individualized program focuses on changing dysfunctional, abusive, or neglectful child-parent interactions through a "re-parenting" process.

The program lasts 12-16 sessions and may include home-based services and group sessions.

Age Range: 0-19 (service is geared toward caregiver)

Families may be eligible if:
  • They are involved with DCFS at any level.
This service is specifically for children and families that are actively involved with Cuyahoga County’s Division of Children and Family Services. If you think you may need these services for your family, please let your caseworker or child protection specialist know.

Programs

Child and Family Focused (Family Preservation)

A short-term crisis intervention program to help stabilize families involved with Cuyahoga County DCFS.

Multisystemic Therapy (MST)

With Multisystemic Therapy an expert will support and advocate for your family.

Parent-Child Interactive Therapy

A supportive therapy service for children and families involved with the Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services.

Alternatives for Families Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

This evidence-based treatment helps improve the relationship between children and caregivers in Cuyahoga County.

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Therapy for Cuyahoga County children with post-traumatic stress disorder or other problems related to traumatic life experiences.

Attachment Biobehavioral Catch-up

Therapy to help residential caregivers in Cuyahoga County understand a child's cues and practice appropriate responses.
